The Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) / International Week Building Resilience for a Sustainable Future combines global awareness with personal transformation - helping participants connect the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the resilience, mindset, and character needed to put them into action.
Delivered by Isla Gaia, GLOBALGOALS.community and De Karakteracademie, the programme strengthens self-awareness, teamwork, and responsible leadership through intensive, action-based learning in an international, interdisciplinary environment.
A key highlight is a challenging outdoor team-building experience led by former Special Forces professionals, designed to develop courage, communication, collaboration, and the ability to lead and adapt under pressure.
The programme is designed around three fundamental objectives:
SDG Knowledge & Awareness
Build self-awareness and an open learning attitude, understand the SDGs and what they mean for you, your team, and your environment.
Impact & Implementation
Strengthen critical thinking and perspective skills, and formulate a concrete SDG project for your education, business, or organisation.
Resilience, Teamwork & Leadership
Develop resilience, moral courage, trust, communication, and ownership - translating learning into sustainable performance and responsible leadership.
A high-impact learning experience that connects sustainability and leadership with character—equipping participants to create meaningful change and to thrive in uncertainty.
Methods & Outcomes
The week blends theory and action through SDG learning sessions, character and resilience development, and hands-on project design. Outcomes include a concrete SDG project/action plan, peer feedback through presentations, and strengthened future-focused sustainable leadership.
